A couple of years ago I went to Lowell Observatory. They discovered Pluto there! And yes, as far as I am concerned it’s still a planet. Anyway, the docent there was lining up the telescope to look at various things in the night sky and he pulled out a green laser to point at what he was showing us. It was amazing, I didn’t know such a thing existed. You could see the whole beam from his hand to the sky. I’ve wanted one ever since. This one came and was in the usual bag and bubble wrap. If you’ve going to gift this to your favorite astronomy student, you’ll want to repack it as a gift. The lazer pointer came charged right out of the bag and I was able to toss a beam all around the dark sky above me. I can’t say at what threshold of darkness it will no longer be affective, but on a dark moonless night, I was quite happy. There is a little diffuser thing on the front which makes all kinds of patterns, but I have no idea what practical purpose that serves. I guess if you’re going to a rave after a night of nebula viewing, you’re covered. Most devices have a USB-C or micro USB port that you plug a cord into.It was a good laser pen that lived up to my expectations.
Most other laser pointers that I've tried have used button cell batteries that are a pain to change out. Not having to swap out the batteries is awesome. It will break the laser up into a bunch of dots and you can turn it to increase or decrease the severity. This laser pointer exceeded my expectations and just about every way. It is super bright, can go a great distance, has nifty features like a refractor and USB charging, and it's cheap to boot. This is a textbook example of an item that deserves all five stars out of five. I’d totally order this over again.
I like the fact that this laser pointer is rechargeable via a USB connection. the green laser pointer has a very strong beam which is very bright. It also has the capability to display a variety of patterns via an attachment that screws on the front of the pointer. Simply rotate it while the beam is on and you scroll through the different patterns. My grandkids love to play with all the different patterns as opposed to the single beam. This laser pointer is way better than my previous laser pointer. This laser pen feels very sturdy and the on/off button has a very rapid response, my old pointers on/off button had a "sweet spot" which made it very unreliable. This laser pointers also has a lock to prevent smaller children from using it. All in all I would highly recommend this product!
Little but mighty laser pen, I'm very pleased with the laser brightness when the cap is off. Kids love to twist the cap for changing patterns. This rechargeable laser pointer can go at least 12 miles as far as I have measured, Its battery life is very good a good 30 minute charge would fill it up for around 5 hours and then you'd have to charge it again but again your only charging it for 30 minutes and using for 5 hours. The value is great very durable.
